PMAG cluster is now present in western Georgia

The regional scale of the cluster of packaging manufacturers in Georgia has increased and from now on includes western Georgia. Kristine Maglakelidze will represent the cluster in western Georgia, who has many years of experience working with the business sector.

The main function of the representative in western Georgia will be to expand and implement cluster activities. Between them, attracting new members and maintaining and managing relationships with members on a regional scale. Also, to ensure the involvement and support of regional members in cluster activities/projects.

The aim of creating a cluster of packaging manufacturers in western Georgia is to unite the networks of businesses, consumers, suppliers and other companies associated with this field and to connect them with the capital and other regions of Georgia. Establishing a regional cluster, in turn, will help to develop the packaging sector at the local level. Through a cluster of packaging manufacturers, it will be possible to optimize supply chain costs, stimulate the creation of new companies, increase productivity and address the employment problem to some extent.

A cluster of packaging manufacturers has been established in Georgia within the framework of the “EU Innovative Action for Private Sector Competitiveness in Georgia”, implemented by the European Union in collaboration with four UN agencies (United Nations Development Program (UNDP), UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), UN Industrial Development Organization  (UNIDO),  International Organization for Migration (IOM).
