Mr. Zaza Mchedlishvili, Chairman of the Georgian Packaging Manufacturers Association (PMAG), and Mr. Archil Bukia, Director of Imereti Agrozone, have signed a memorandum of understanding.
The memorandum aims to deepen cooperation between packaging manufacturers and companies operating in the greenhouse sector, as well as the implementation of joint cross-cluster projects and promotion of the introduction of modern technologies in the production of greenhouse packaging materials.
The memorandum also envisages conducting joint research projects on topics relevant to the parties and sharing knowledge, skills and experience.
PMAG is a UNDP-supported packaging cluster that brings together more than 40 companies with the aim to assist the packaging industry together with its individual members and enhance competitiveness, scale up through synergies of collaboration across the value chain.
Ltd Imereti Agro Zone (IAZ) was established with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia with the aim and goal to create a Greenhouse Cluster Development (GHCD). Imereti Agrozone Greenhouse Development Project envisages the establishment and development of high, medium and low-tech greenhouses, logistics and sales center, processing enterprises and various ancillary businesses in Tskaltubo and Baghdati municipalities stretched on 220 hectares.
