PMAG in talks to join World Packaging Organization soon

The PMAG cluster has become a candidate member of the World Packaging Organization (WPO). Representatives of PMAG introduced the Georgian cluster to the President and Secretary-General of the WPO and discussed future cooperation plans. As a result of the negotiations, the PMAG was granted the candidacy. The membership of the Georgian cluster in the organization will be discussed during the next meeting of the WPO. The next WPO meeting is set to be held on November 23-27 in Johannesburg (South Africa). During the Johannesburg meeting, the Georgian side will personally inform the members of the organization about PMAG, as a result of which the members of WPO will take a vote regarding PMAG membership.

At this stage, WPO unites 65 members from 46 countries. In case of membership, PMAG will become WPO's first member cluster from the region and will also have the right to vote.

WPO was founded on September 6, 1968 in Japan. Since then, the organization has been working on encouraging the development of packaging technology and science, contributing to the development of international trade and the promotion of education and training in the packaging sector.
